mind-numbingly boring

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but it’s December.

The thermometer here in NJ is telling a different story. It’s balmy outside and I’m sweating in my wool coat.

I am totally boring myself with this topic.

So let’s move on to another boring topic….Christmas. How are YOU doing on your Christmas shopping? I’ve gotten maybe a quarter of my shopping done. But the rest is all internet shopping, just point and click and wait for the package to arrive.

And speaking of Christmas….the other day I received an email from my friend Sanna.

She wanted to let me know that I would be receiving a package from amazon.com and to not open it until Christmas.

Now I ask you….would a real friend do that? Send a package and then make you wait until Christmas?!?!

I don’t know if I’ll be able to resist temptation. I’m going to need all the help and support I can get.

With any luck, amazon.com will take their sweet time sending out the package so it won’t sit around mocking me until Christmas. AND I hope whatever she sent me is worth the wait!! I’ll let you know after Christmas.

I also bought beautiful Christmas cards this year. From the Dollar Store. Since they were so nice (and cheap - $1 each!!!!) I bought several boxes. Now I have too many cards and not enough people to send them to. So email me your address to nejyerf@hotmail.com and I will send you a cheap yet beautiful Dollar Store Christmas card.

Seriously? Because I still need to get Christmas cards...

I sweated in my wool coat today, here in NYC trying to do lunch hour christmas shopping. I, too, did most of my Christmas shopping online. I get home at night and see all these packages on my door step and none of them are for me.

That is truely cruel! My SIL sent us all big heavy envelopes- which arrived Thanksgiving weekend- marked "Do Not Open Before Xmas!" Now, tell me, who the h*ll sends out Christmas presents before December?

I've noticed a couple times when I've visited your site that you have a friend named Sanna. My grandma's name was Sanna and my cousin's name is, too. I have never heard of it anywhere else but my family! It's kinda neat that there's more of them out there!

My sister and I sent each other packages last year for our birthdays (5 days apart) and tried to wait, but we ended up calling each other as soon as we got them and opening them over the phone together 2 days before mine (and 7 before hers).

I've got most of my Christmas shopping done! I've turned into the type of person I used to dispise, but mostly just because I am spending my Christmas out of town and just want to have everything done with already. Working on the Christmas cards, I have only written 12, I'm bored with it, that is what I call mind-numbingling boring, writing out christmas cards. I always feel the need to put in a personal note, I'm not one to put a blanket statement on every card so this task is the worst for me of the holiday season. Okay, now I just sound like Ebenezer. Ebenezer Jenny.

That is totally cruel and unusual to send a friend a Christmas package that far before Christmas! I would open it and not tell Sanna. You can always feign surprise when she calls to see how you liked the gift!

I agree with Miah. Sanna would never know if you opened it and then acted surprised later when she asked how you liked the gift. Or, you could just tear open one little corner and take a peek LOL.

Right. Xmas cards. Need to get those.

And some presents. Check.

So weird that someone would announce the pre-arrival of their gift.

So I thought you said you got a letter (or whatever it was; my retention rate is tiny) from your friend SANTA.

I had to go back -- twice! -- and reread the name. Then I see Sarah has rellies named Sanna, and I feel a bit deprived. What is it? Italian? Greek? I know it's not Norwegian, because there'd be a whole shitpile of 'em here in Minnesota, if that were the case...

I'll be e-mailing you soon.
