Come On-A My House - Rosemary Clooney

Today’s selection is Come On-A My House by Rosemary Clooney.

I remember when I first discovered Rosemary Clooney. It was also the first time I saw White Christmas. She was magnificent in a tight black velvet dress, singing “Love, You Didn’t Do Right By Me”

In response to Jess and Ami’s comments of yesterday:

Jess – I don’t remember what book I suggested last time. Email me – we need to catch up anyway.

Ami – I really like Carl Hiaasen. I've read all but the childrens books and I felt that Nature Girl was the weakest one so far. My favorite is Skinny Dip. The movie Striptease (starring Demi Moore and Burt Reynolds) was based on his book by the same name. Notwithstanding the dreadful acting by Demi, I thought the movie was excellent, as was the book.

I also introduced Tom’s 84 yr old grandmother to Hiaasen via Skinny Dip. She liked it so much she shared it with the ladies in her bridge group.

I would recommend Hiaasen to Jess for summer reading, but not for the book club because it might not be to everyone’s taste.

Anybody have any suggestions for the book club?

I've read (listened) to Skinny Dip as well, and I definitely liked it better than Nature Girl. I'm still looking for more of them at the library, but I'm not having any luck.

As for the book club, I'd recommend anything by Jodi Picoult (especially My Sister's Keeper, although many may have already read it since it's one of her older ones).

I love Rosemary Clooney but all I can see when I hear this song are three dumb blondes with fake boobs.
